A mere 24 hours remain before the commencement of the Hogueras de Alicante 2025 plantà. Consequently, the city will activate a special traffic operation, restricting circulation in the central area. The closures on various streets and avenues will begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, and will remain in effect until 8 a.m. on the 25th, following the cremà.

The restricted circuit for vehicular traffic includes Plaza de España, Plaza Santa Teresa, Cuesta de la Fábrica, and streets and avenues such as Benito Pérez Galdó, Plaza Músico Óscar Tordera, Poeta Carmelo Calvo, Padre Mariana, Salamanca, Maisonnave, Doctor Gadea, Federico Soto, General Marvá, Doctor Ramón y Cajal Conde Vallellano, Juan Bautista Lafora, Dénia, Doña Violante, and Vázquez de Mella.

Within this perimeter of the city centre, Avenues Alfonso el Sabio and de la Estación will also be closed. However, specific measures will be in place for restricted traffic of public services and residents. These measures will allow pedestrians to move freely through these streets, which are heavily trafficked during the Hogueras festivities.

Speed Limitations and Closures for Parades

Traffic in the central area of Alicante will be limited to 20 kilometres per hour, with appropriate signage at the seven access points to the restricted traffic zone (Plaza de España, Jaime II, San Telmo, Álvarez Seréix, Federico Soto via Plaza Calvo Sotelo, and San Fernando via Doctor Gadea).

The Alicante City Council's Mobility Department also reminds that this permeability will be limited by the temporary closure of roads affected by parades, mascletà, cremà, and various activities scheduled within the Hogueras festival programme.

The Councillor for Urban Mobility, Carlos de Juan, reiterates that Alicante residents should "avoid using private vehicles as much as possible in favour of public transport." In this regard, he insists on "leaving cars at home, in parking lots, or park-and-ride facilities," and recommends "prioritising circulation through other perimeter rings," such as Gran Vía, Vía Parque, and the coastal corridor.

Changes to Alicante Buses

Due to the plantà of fogueres, racós, and barracas, diversions will be activated for the closure of Altamira Street by the Official bonfire, affecting urban bus lines 2, 12, 22, and interurban lines 21 with San Juan and El Campello.

Lines 2, 22, and 21 will continue from Plaza Puerta del Mar, following the route through Mártires de la Libertad and Doctor Gadea to resume their usual itineraries. Line 12 will end its route at La Rambla.

On Thursday, the 19th, from 11 p.m. until the 25th at 7 a.m., the urban night bus lines 3N, 13N, 21N, 22N, 23N, and 24N will be in operation.

Tram Stops Closed for Mascletàs

The Alicante Tram will maintain uninterrupted service from June 20 to 24 on lines 1, 2, 3, and 4. The special services will not stop at the Sangueta halt. From June 18 to 24, due to the mascletàs, the Luceros station will be temporarily closed from 1:30 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Travellers with origin or destination at Luceros must use the Mercado Tram station. The elevator at Luceros station will be out of service from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., from June 18 to 24.
